The new DaVinci Artiq is an absolute game-changer when it comes to 510-Thread Battery cartridge vaping.

In this review, we’ll be going over the DaVinci Artiq’s premium features like an extra long cooling path, four voltage options, and its bong compatibility to see if it’s worth the $60 price tag.

The Elephant in the room: An Aluminum Shell

The DaVinci Artiq’s standout feature is its protective aluminum shell which wraps around the magnetic adapter connection and airpath of your cartridge.

When you put the shell on top of the base via an O-Ring seal, it feels sturdy and well-made. The shell will protect the hardware and your cartridge from accidental drops, but at what cost?

Well, it hurts the portability as it’s about twice as big as a CCell Palm and many times thicker than just a normal vape pen style design like the Dr. Dabber Universal Battery.

The shell is made from aluminum and hides your Refillable Vape Cartridge not only from sunlight but any other dirt or grime that could hurt your vaping sessions.

    How it cools your vapor

Overall, I’m not really sold on the whole aesthetics of the Oil Cartridge Pen shell, but let’s get into if it had any effect on cooling down my vapor.

Underneath the shell of the Artiq, there are two sides of the base separated by a divider. On one side is where you place your cart with its adapter, and on the other side is sealed off and leads your vapor up through to the silicone mouthpiece.

The way it’s designed will make your vapor travel a longer distance compared to a normal 510 battery where you inhale the vapor directly from the top of the cartridge.

DaVinci claims that this air path reduces the temperature of the vapor by 90%

While it might not be that much, there is a cooling effect, especially when you combine it with the raised mouthpiece which can be paired with a 10mm bubbler.

You’ll also have access to three voltages, which can be cycled through by quickly tapping the power button three times:

    • High – 3.6V – Red – Bigger Clouds
    • Medium – 3.2V – Yellow – Good Flavor
    • Low 2.8V – Blue – Excellent Flavor

Hitting the power button twice will also begin a short 1.8V pre-heat cycle which is good for unclogging carts, or for getting thick oils ready for vaping. On the bottom of the vape, you can also use the air intake holes as a carb cap to control the airflow and make hits harsher if you’d like.

    DaVinci Artiq Build Quality

Inside the kit, you’ll find the Artiq, a flat and raised mouthpiece, a USB-C charging cable, two magnetic adapters, and some maintenance accessories.

The Artiq’s one-button design makes it simple to use, even for beginners. As for the mouthpiece, you’ll have two choices between either a flat 10mm silicone mouthpiece or a raised 10mm mouthpiece, which as previously mentioned can be used as a bong adapter which is very unique in the world of Oil Vaporizers.

If that weren’t enough, it also comes with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, which is always nice to have on a 510 battery.

    • Oh my god, I even forgot, it comes with two DaVinci stickers which can be used to make anything you own that much cooler!

    Solid 760mAh Battery Life

One of the standout features of the DaVinci Artiq is its remarkable battery life and USB-C charging.

Power button, USB-C port, Air intake holes

Okay, I’ll quit knocking it for now as the battery spec is an impressive 760mAh, which can be compared to the average range of 250-500mAh for a normal vape pen.

The long-lasting battery allows users to vape throughout the day without needing to worry about running out of power, which in my book puts it on the level of the Toqi 510 with its USB-C and wireless charging.

Who’s the DaVinci Artiq best for?

In conclusion, the DaVinci Artiq 510 Thread Battery is quite expensive, coming in at $60, but it has some nice features which make it worth it if you’re a very heavy cartridge user.

    • The vast majority of people however will simply be better off with a simple draw-activated design for a fraction of the price.

If you want something even more premium than the Artiq, you might be interested in the 510 E-Rigs, which are also known as Vapor Cups. You can check out our Tronian Omegatron Review to see if that style of removable glass cup is up your alley or not.
