Yocan is back at it again with the white vans. And by that, I mean adding to their never-ending lineup of Vape Pens. This time, it’s the Yocan Uni Pro 2.0 510-battery series which has been steadily rising in popularity thanks to its similarities to a nicotine box mod.

In this review, we’ll be going over how the precision voltage control and larger battery size perform to see what kind of vapers would be interested in this unit. Let’s get into it.

Variable Voltages

With an adjustable lid cap, you’ll be able to secure any cartridge you want in the submerged magnetic adapter design. There is a power button, so you can either run pre-heating cycles or fire it up manually. With a variable voltage of 2V to 4.2V, there will be a heat setting for everyone. Is the Yocan Uni Pro portable?

The newer Uni Pro models are a bit on the chunkier side, similar to a CCell Palm, so it’s definitely not as portable as the pen-style batteries. However, if it’s not going to fit into your pocket, it will definitely fit into a vape case along with any other accessories you might want to bring with yourself on the go.

Manufacturing Quality

The Uni Pro models definitely are onto something by going more towards a box mod design over a pen style. The voltage customization is a lot of fun and the bigger battery allows for more usage without breaking the bank.

In terms of frame differences on the Uni Pro and Uni Pro 2.0, the original model uses plastic shelling whereas the 2.0 uses metal that makes it substantially heavier. While some people might like the metal for the rigidness, it really takes away from being able to use it in pockets as they’ll be swinging back and forth from the weight. As well, the metal doesn’t add too much, as you’ll still be able to hear the electronics rattle inside of the device as a sign of how cheap these units are overall.

The nicest thing for me is that the digital display will let you see you set voltage as well as battery level & it’s nice not to have to rely on an obscure light to flash to tell you your battery level.

There are now four Oil Vaporizer models of the Uni to choose from. These include the Uni Pro, Uni Pro 2.0, Uni Pro S, and the original Uni.

To be honest, there’s hardly any differences between all of them besides the S and the original not having a digital display, and instead three pre-set voltages. They’re all similarly priced, with the S and 2.0 costing slightly more because of the USB-C charging, and a metal frame, respectively. However, they all do share the same battery specs and design so if you like how they operate on the basic level, you’re not going to be disappointed.

How to Use the Yocan Uni Pro?

Using the magnetic adapter, all you need to do is thread it onto the bottom of your cartridge and then drop it into the hollow body of the Uni Pro. Then, using the dial at the top, you can close the lid so that your cartridge will sit tight and be secure. Once you drop it into the unit, there is another height dial which you can slide up or down depending on how much of your cart’s mouthpiece you want exposed.

If you’re a heavy user or like to swap your cartridges often, then you can also pick up some spare 510 Thread Magnetic Adapters to make chamber swapping faster.

Overall, it’s nice to see a different approach to the 510 thread battery tried and true design & with the popularity of this model I think that the box style mod is definitely a trend that will be here to stay in the coming years.
