Is the Pulsar Sipper worth it?

With a pyramid-shaped design and large glass bubbler, the Pulsar Sipper has been taking the wax vaporizer market by storm because of its cross-compatibility with both small amounts of dabs as well as 510 Thread Cartridges.

  • If you’ve ever wanted to sip vapor like a Jäger bomb on a Friday night to relive your college days, look no further than the Sipper!

In this review, we’ll be giving you a run-down on how it works and comparing it to E-Rigs and 510 Thread Batteries in general to show you how it’s a true combination of both types of vaporizers – Let’s get into it.

Wax Atomizer and 510-Cartridge Heating System

The Pulsar Sipper works with two main features of an air pump and an airtight rubber mold. This is where the vapor from your cartridge or atomizer will pass through as it moves into the vapor-holding chamber below the Sipper’s bubbler, just like on the Tronian Omegatron.

The Sipper is super easy to use and has one button with four main commands:

  1. Five clicks turn the unit on
  2. Three clicks cycles through the four voltages of yellow / blue / green / red
  3. Double tap for a 30-second heating cycle
  4. Press and hold for manual heating

When you start the heating process, you’ll be able to hear the gentle hum of the air pump, and within a few seconds you’ll see the vapor starting to rise into the holding chamber.

A small opening at the top of the holding chamber’s glass lets you know when it’s reached capacity.

When the holding chamber is full, your vapor will start pouring out of this hole like chimney smoke, and from there you can turn the heating off with two clicks or by letting go of the power button if you were manually heating.

You can hold the vapor in the glass for a few minutes at a time before wisps away

Smooth and Fun Vapor Quality

Vapor quality is where the Pulsar Sipper really shines.

I think with cartridges especially, you’ll be able to get density and flavor that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to achieve with a 510 Vape Pen.

One thing to note is that the bubbler works better with less water to avoid splashing water into your mouth!

The nice thing about the holding chamber is that you don’t have to take big hits if you don’t want to, hence the sipper name.

The two layers of additional cooling make the vapor you inhale feel super smooth even as it comes out incredibly dense, just like you would expect from a filled Volcano Classic balloon.

How is the dab extraction?

There’s been a lot of feedback regarding the power of the triple quartz coils, with some users complaining that the voltages might be over-tuned, but I feel like this is to help fill the bubbler’s vapor chamber fill quickly.

As we’ve stated, the vapor goes through a lot of cooling that you won’t find on a normal Cannabis Vaporizer.

This makes it a great option for medicinal users who would like high THC dosages without having to take harsh hits from a wax vaporizer or rely on edibles. In other words, the Sipper might be a great option for seniors or for those that need a device that’s easy on the lungs.

What concentrates can it use?

When you first open your package, you might notice that the quartz atomizer has a small capacity, so you’ll want to stick to smaller amounts of dab to help with a good extraction. Overall though, it will be able to vaporizer any waxy concentrate.

What to use in a wax vape

For cartridges, you’ll want to stick to less viscous concentrates so that you don’t have to deal with any clogs that will render them useless in the Sipper. If you’re unsure what kind of cartridge you have, a lighter yellow color will generally be less viscous than a darker brown cartridge.

If you do have to stick with a cartridge that’s prone to clogging, you can pre-heat it a bit by rotating the oil under a lighter to help loosen the oil and, hopefully any clogs with gentle sips as well. After that, you’ll want to use the red voltage to get a good amount of vapor from your heating cycle.

Is the Pulsar Sipper portable?

While the actual E-Rig itself might not be portable at all, the removable cup is the unit’s main feature and is super portable!

If you plug the carb cab with it in your finger, you’ll be able to bring the Sipper between rooms for sharing, making it a great option for parties.

The only comparable feature to this kind of accessory would be the balloons of desktop vaporizers.

Just an OK Battery Life

If the Sipper was a normal E-Rig, the 1500mAh of battery would be decent, but the air pump takes away from the overall battery life.

Depending on how long you vape for per session, you’ll be able to get between 5-10 filled cups per battery charge.

With USB-C charging, you’ll get fully charged back up in around an hour and a half.

For an E-Rig with crazy battery life, we recommend the Dr. Dabber Switch!

You’ll be able to get up to 50 sessions on a Switch battery cycle

Solid Build Quality

Compared to similarly designed Cup E-Rigs on the market, the Sipper is one of the few that features a bubbler above the vapor container.

  • Compared to the Crossing Tech Ace, the glass is much larger, the voltage is higher, and the voltages are higher.

Overall, there aren’t too many moving parts on the Sipper and it does a great job at what it was designed for.

As you might have seen on social media, there are now tons of imitating devices popping up. I’m not sure if the Sipper was the first of the kind, but I think it was the first to make it on the mainstream level because it’s a step above the rest.

Easy Maintenance

For the quartz atomizer, you’ll clean it like you would on any other kind of vape by using a vape cleaning stick to wipe away any leftover residue while your dab is still warm and runny.

  • If you start noticing a decline in performance over time, you can remove the atomizer it and soak it in 99% isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes to help loosen any burnt residue.

For the bubbler, you’ll be able to use some Orange Chronic and swish it around for a few seconds to remove any yellowing or hard water stains.

Another part that’s important to keep clean with alcohol wipes is the rubber sleeve over the atomizer, as it will get resin buildups.

You’ll also be able to purchase a replacement Pulsar Sipper Bubbler or Pulsar Sipper Atomizers.

Community Consensus

Many of the YouTube reviews of the Sipper are very positive as the Sipper is able to generate massive clouds in just seconds that are easy to share in just seconds. It hasn’t been out for too long, feedback online has generally been positive.

Pulsar Sipper Pros

  • Cartridge and Dab compatible
  • Easy to share vapor cup
  • Easy to use
  • USB-C Charging

Pulsar Sipper Cons

  • Pricy
  • Limited Battery Life
  • Hard to use with clogged or viscous cartridges

Who’s it for?

The Pulsar Sipper is best for a vaping connoisseur that wants a very unique vaping experience that is easy to share with friends. The only real thing that’s lacking is colorful LED lights to help set the mood like on the Carta 2, but maybe that will be available in future versions.

Medicinal users that currently use 510 cartridges will really love this upgrade especially.

  • While the higher voltages might produce warm vapor, you can let the cup sit for a minute to help you cool it down.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, the Pulsar Sipper is super unique and offers an incredibly fun experience to new and experienced Oil Cartridge Vaporizers fans alike. It gives you a combination of very condensed and cool vapor similar to filled vape balloons, but is affordable enough not to break the bank like some desktop vapes.

For the time being, it’s the absolute best cup-style E-Rig and I’m always happy to tell my friends about it as the cool new kid on the block!
