Hybrid Heating System

The Fury 2 is a portable hybrid vaporizer that’s able to pump out consistent vapor clouds with a 0.2 stainless steel oven. Once you turn the vape on, you’ll be able to precisely control the temperature. The UI screen is friendly and will tell you the current and set temperatures, as well as the battery indicator. The only real downside is the plastic mouthpiece which can get hot after a back-to-back session.

Fury 2 Portability

Coming in at only three inches tall and two inches across, the Fury 2 packs a lot of vapor quality into a super portable package. For the body of the vaporizer, it uses rubberized silicone over its aluminum frame which isn’t too bad for a budget vaporizer. The mouthpiece is ergonomic and allows for easy sipping while you’re out on the go, hiking for example. You won’t have 15 included dosing capsules like you would with the Zeus Arc GTS Hub, but for microdosers, it’s still a decent choice. The included mouthpiece cap is a nice touch to prevent the smell from escaping if discreetness is an important factor in your sessions.  If you’re a heavy user, you’ll want to pick up a Tools420 Vape Case as it will let you carry some vape accessories without overburdening your pockets. Speaking of pockets though, the device itself will easily fit into your palm and any pants pockets!

Fury 2 Vapor Quality

After thirty seconds of heating, your set temperature will reach the oven temperature, and the red heating light on the body of the vape will turn solid green. Because of the wide-open mouthpiece, you’ll be able to take big inhales just like you would on the XMAX V3 Pro. Your clouds will be surprisingly big, just like on the Pulsar APX V3, but as a downside, most of your flavor will be gone after the first inhale. Make sure that you are exhaling fully before a long and slow inhale for best results. You’ll also be able to use the sandwich method with this vaporizer because of the high temperature. To do this, just place a rice-sized grain of dab in between two small clumps of herb!

Battery Life

The biggest downside of the Fury 2 is the proprietary 1600mAh battery. Although they claim 50 minutes of battery life, most Reddit users have found that they are only getting 6-7 four-minute sessions in before needing a recharge. Because the battery isn’t swappable and there is no pass-through charging, you’ll be left without a vape rather quickly. Again, for microdosers this is fine, but for most users a pretty big letdown. For this reason, we suggest the cheaper XMAX V3 Pro which has a stronger 2600mAh swappable battery for even less money.

How to use the Fury 2?

The Fury 2 mouthpiece lid is a bit unique as it uses a clicking system to take it on or off. For the price, this is definitely one of its strong points as the attachment is definitely strong and seems to hold up very well over time. Inside, you’ll be able to fit about 0.15g of your ground cannabis into the chamber before reattaching the mouthpiece and beginning your session by pressing the power button three times. With either the WPA or bubbler, the chamber is a bit smaller, and you’ll only be able to get 0.08g into their chambers.

How to clean the Fury 2?

The Fury 2 is fairly simple to clean, as all you’ll really need to do is knock out the bowl after every use to prevent resin buildups. Once you begin to notice buildups on the metal screen, you can then go for a thorough cleaning by removing the gasket and using a vape cleaning stick to remove any kind of resin you see in the airpath and oven chamber. After, just place the screen and gasket back onto the bottom of the mouthpiece.

Final thoughts

Overall, the Healthy Rips Fury 2 is still a decent vaporizer six years after its release, but is definitely outshined by more modern units like the Utillian 722. While you’ll be able to get decent vapor quality, it’s ultimately failed by the 1600mAh battery. Still though, if you’re a microdoser who just needs a few hits every so often and like the form of the Fury 2, I’m sure that you’ll be happy with it! Until next time, to health and high times.
