The Stundenglass, owned by vape manufacturer Grenco Science is one of the newest releases in their cannabis accessories, and it has taken the 420 community by storm for its unique take on traditional bongs.

How does the Stundenglass Gravity Bong work?

Stündenglass features a unique design with a 360-degree rotating glass water piece that will displace water with the smoke produced by the bowl, which can then be turned upside down to be inhaled as the gravity releases the smoke through the hookah. The name stands for “hourglass” in German, and it’s clear that they have spent the time designing and sourcing the right parts for the perfect experience.

Stundenglass flower bowl

The bowl works just like you’ll be used to on a traditional bong with a removable bowl. The bowl will house around 0.3g of your favorite dry herb. Simply combust, and the smoke will automatically be brought into the holding chamber of the lower cylinder.

Is the Stundenglass portable?

At only a foot tall and about 8 inches wide at the bowl, the Stundenglass gravity bong is comparable to the size of most other glass bongs. The key difference is the moving cylinder made from borosilicate glass which will be very prone to shattering due to its moving nature and overall fragility.

Stundenglass Gravity Bong Smoke Quality

The thing that some people don’t get and others love about gravity bongs are that even though this bong features a ton of water, there is very little filtration

The smoke comes out pure and intense and all at once in a rush because of the pressure from the water moving into the second chamber.

How to use the Stundenglass?

To use the Stundenglass, all you’ll have to do is fill the bottom water container with water, and the top one-half full. When you’ve filled your bowl and ignited your dry herb, you’ll then be able to flip the chamber upside down. This is where it gets its ‘hourglass’ nickname from, the rotating glass bowls. Once you flip the chamber 180 degrees, the negative air pressure will cause the smoke to displace the water in the top bowl

In other words, light the bowl as you turn the cylinder water side up.

The smoke will begin to gather at the top chamber as the water falls to the bottom. When you’re ready to inhale or your bowl has been cleared, just turn the chambers 180 degrees again, and the smoke will be transferred to the exit port for you to inhale. For bigger bowls, you can always repeat the flips until you’ve gotten all the smoke out of the cylinders.

How to clean the Stundenglass?

The easiest way to clean the Stundenglass is to use Orange Chronic Cleaner, making sure to flip and swirl and aggressively swish in each cylinder. Afterward, a hot water rinse will get rid of any kind of resin.

Is the Stundenglass Gravity Bong worth it?

Overall, the Stündenglass is a super cool bong that will get you a lot of attention at parties, and seriously be able to melt your face when having a session at home.
