Zeus Arc GTS Hub
USD $239.99

With the late 2021 releases of heavyweight titans Zeus Arc GTS Hub and the Mighty Plus Vaporizer, it is only right to compare the two. We had the chance to sit down and really get into the nitty-gritty details comparing the two vaporizer’s kits to one another in terms. With upgrades made to the latest Arc’s ease of use as a third-generation cannabis vaporizer, the playing field has been somewhat evened despite the two device’s price differences. So, let’s get into the review.

Zeus Arc GTS Hub vs Mighty Plus Kit Overview

The Zeus Arc GTS Hub by Zeus Arsenal was made to be a modern one-stop solution to portable dry herb vaporizer needs. It has everything neatly organized and separated within the metallic hub design for traveling, and utilizes ArcPods to make the most out of its chamber and vapor quality. The Mighty Plus on the other hand is a well-known top-tier dry herb vaporizer that makes the most out of its hybrid heating elements and extremely easy-to-use LED screen and rugged PEEK medical-grade plastic design. There is only one dosing capsule included in the kit, but there are three screens for wax use.

There are some nice features that come with the GTS’s gold pick as it can work as both a chamber loader when not using ArcPods or to remove the mouthpiece for this purpose. The included gold heat sink also works well to distribute the induction oven’s heat and keep the airpath relatively isolated from rubber or plastic.

Ease of Use Review

The Mighty Plus was made originally with medicinal patients in mind, and for this reason, is very easy to use and understand. All the information you need is displayed on the screen and the twistable mouthpiece is very easy for beginners to understand and load. The GTS takes more of a ‘tinkerer’ approach, as users will be able to preload up to 15 Zeus ArcPods with dry herb in storage in the Hub. These can then be used to be swapped easily in and out of the GTS vape for sessions. As the GTS relies on three programmable temperatures accessible via an app to control the heat, it does drag a bit behind customization, but not on ease of use. Users can turn the vape on by holding the power button for several seconds until it turns on. You’ll then be able to flip between the three heat settings with single clicks.

When a Mighty Plus session comes to an end, you’ll have to knock out the chamber and any debris or resin leftover in the chamber. On the other hand, the GTS Vape at the end of a session can easily knock out the existing pod with the included metal pick or just by flipping the GTS upside down. Although the ArcPod may be hot, there will be no debris, resin, or missed chamber bud from the next reload to cleanout. On a side note, you can check battery life with a simple shake of the device. It also uses this movement feature to auto-shutoff after five minutes of inactivity.

Zeus GTS Hub vs Mighty+ Manufacturing Quality

As previously mentioned, The Storz & Bickel Mighty Plus Vape was initially designed with medicinal users in mind and for that reason only uses top-of-the-line materials in the vape. The newly upgraded bowl on the Mighty+ is ceramic and ensures no aftertaste due to the straightforward straw mouthpiece design. The GTS Hub and Vaporizer take a bit of a different approach with a metallic design and use of Zeus ArcPods.  Despite the lack of a screen, the design is very intuitive and feels great in the hand. One downside to the small metal design is that it will get hot on higher temperatures in multiple back-to-back sessions. If you’re carrying it in your pocket on a hot summer day, this could be a bit of a drag compared to the cooler ribbed design of the Mighty+.

Review: Vapor Quality

In terms of vapor quality, the Mighty+ is the superior device due to its hybrid heating and chamber elements. The conduction drives heat the vape up from the bottom and then convection will finely roast the herb. You’ll have full control over the temperatures and your dry herb cannabis terpene profile will be in full effect. No matter the temperature you set, you’ll always get a lovely hit whether you’re looking for flavor or pure cloud.

On the other hand, the GTS vape has been described as a chimney factory. As each Zeus ArcPod fills 0.3g of dry herb every time, your sessions will always be consistent. As the GTS uses a conduction-based oven, the aluminum of the Pods has an increased effect on the vapor production compared to other conduction ovens like a Boundless CFX. However, the GTS makes use of an all-gold vapor path that minimizes contact with any plastic parts. For a portable vaporizer, the cloud production is seriously wicked and you’ll have massive clouds for most of the session until the flavor begins to decline.

Zeus Arc GTS vs Mighty Plus Portability and Discreetness

As the Mighty Plus Vaporizer comes with only one dosing capsule in its kit, multiple sessions on the go will be somewhat difficult even if you were to make use of a Dosing Capsules Filling Set or a Mighty Filling Aid. The Mighty+ is almost six inches tall and three inches wide, and at half a pound is very awkward to have in your pocket, let alone with purchased separately dosing capsules. With the ribbed black and orange plastic design with an LED screen, you will be sticking out in public and also have trouble quickly loading the chamber up with dry herb. The plastic is slightly prone to damage when being dropped or chipping though, as well as the screen.

The Zeus Arc GTS Vaporizer makes use of a matte black finish with gloss gold trim and accessories. The lights are blue when it is heating up, and green when it has reached the set temperature, with each bar representing what pre-set mode that you are on. It is very stylish and people won’t bat an eye at you for using it in public. However, conduction vaporizers tend to have a stronger scent to the vapor in comparison to convection or hybrid ovens. Especially as the GTS will produce quite a bit of smoke at higher temperatures, the vapor production will be the thing that gets attention. However, in more private travel settings like hiking, you will be able to fit multiple pre-loaded pods and the vape into your pocket for super easy re-filling. Although the Hub itself would need a proper traveling bag like a backpack, it will further allow you to up your portable dry herb vaporizer game.

Battery

The Mighty Plus is one of the best on the market, using a dual lithium-ion battery setup that is UL certified for a consistent 90 minutes of use. It makes use of a USB-C charging port for faster charging than other portable vapes and is also capable of forty charges with a sold-separately supercharger. On the go with a battery block, this is a super strong battery kit. Each battery can be seen on either side of the center chamber, and they make up the majority of the size of the vape. The Zeus Arc GTS uses a standard USB charging port underneath the gold metal pick. It uses a 3500 lithium polymer battery that will last up to ninety minutes.

Heating Times and Control

With a sixty-second heat up time and intuitive temperature control, the Mighty+ takes the cake in this category. You can set the temperature anywhere between 40C – 210F / 104C – 410F and get good results with the hybrid heating and straw mouthpiece. You’ll also have access to a superboost feature to raise the temperature to max quickly to close out a hard-hitting session. Alternatively, you can slowly raise the temperature throughout a session to maximize your THC extraction. As 410F is just below the 430F combustion point of cannabis, this is all you’ll need for a dry herb cannabis vaporizer.

On the other hand, the Zeus Arc GTS has three pre-set temperatures: Level 1 is 205 degrees Celsius, level 2 is 215 degrees Celsius and the final is 225 degrees Celsius. You can get this down to 185C as a baseline through the firmware, but overall these choices do not compare to the Mighty+. The heat up time is 80 seconds to hit 205 C, which slightly lags behind the Mighty+.

Who should buy which device?

The Mighty Plus is the king of the portable dry herb vaporizer category for a reason due to its superior vapor quality inside a super easy-to-use kit. Everything about the vape is forgiving and can give both beginners and vaping connoisseurs an excellent experience.

Although the GTS only features three pre-set temperatures, it is very easy to understand the light pre-set temperature design and to fill the chamber as well. You’ll be able to pre-load up to 15 Zeus ArcPods and keep them in secure storage in the hub by using the kit’s Zeus Xtruder grinder. All you’ll have to do is load some cannabis into the top of the grinder and twist until the Pod auto-ejects. You’ll also get secure and convenient storage of your AVB (Already Vaped Bud) in the Hub’s tray. This can be used for recipes or in combination with a Magical Butter V2 Machine for easy edible cooking. As the GTS will always get a nice vapor extraction from your cannabis, this feature with the PodKnocker and tray is super convenient.

As Zeus ArcPods will last three sessions. The kit comes with 45 total pods which will give you quite a few sessions, but eventually, the paper lids will need replacing with a Zeus ArcPods Triple Pack.

Zeus Arc GTS Hub vs Mighty Plus Conclusion

These two kits are truly the powerhouses of the portable cannabis vaporizers category. In terms of ease of use and vapor quality, they are miles ahead of their competition. They both have an excellent build quality that you won’t have to worry about in the long run and make the most of their setups. With the GTS hub, you’ll be able to have excellent utilization of pre-loaded sessions and your AVB with easy grinding with the Xtruder. The Mighty Plus delivers consistently amazing vapor quality and full temperature control, and even concentrate abilities with dosing pods.

For an at-home unit, the Mighty+ vape clearly reigns supreme but as a one-stop portable solution cannabis vaporizer, the GTS Hub is a better option.

Don’t forget to check out the Zeus Arc water pipe adapter which lets you hook up your Zeus Arc to your favorite water rig – Or the Mighty Glass Mouthpiece to take vapor quality to the next level as well.
