The number of so-called budget portable vaporizers has been on the rise recently, and we love to see how classy some of those devices can be. The Linx Eden dry herb vaporizer promises to be one of those devices, boasting a quartz chamber, good vapor quality, and high portability. It does have the option to vape concentrates as well. We discuss all of this and more in our Linx Eden review.

How to use the Linx Eden?

Turning the Linx Eden dry flower vaporizer on much like doing so with other devices – just hit the button five times. Three clicks will toggle through the temperature settings. The Linx heats up in about 30 seconds, which is also typical for budget flower vapes. There is a 5-min auto shut-off feature that helps preserve battery life, which is a nice touch.

Linx Eden Temperature Settings

There are four pre-set temperatures on the Eden vape. 182°C, 193°C, 204°C, and 221°C. These temperature settings are solid because they are nicely spaced out and calibrated well. We recommend sticking to the second or third temperatures. The lowest temp was a bit weak for our liking and the highest has a slight risk of combustion.

Linx Eden Heating System and Chamber

The Eden vape uses a hybrid heating system, also known as a mixture of convection and conduction. This just means your dry flower doesn’t come in direct contact with the heating source. Because the heating system is a hybrid, you will want to grind your dry herbs finely and pack the chamber down. Don’t pack it down too far though, because you will restrict airflow.

The Eden portable vaporizer features a high-quality quartz chamber that can pack up to 0.5 gram of dry flower. We are quite happy with the chamber materials and its nice size. The Eden heating chamber sets the unit apart.

We recommend sterilizing the Eden by turning it on to the highest temperature and letting it run through a full cycle two or three times. This helps get rid of any kind of residue that might be left over from the manufacturing process – and you definitely don’t want that in your lungs.

Linx Eden Vapor Quality

The Linx Eden vapor quality is great! This is thanks to the quartz chamber and the glass mouthpiece. The Eden vapor won’t be winning any kind of awards or surpass units like the Mighty+ from Storz and Bickel, or the Arizer Solo 2. However, we were quite impressed with the flavor.

The vapor production is a bit below average, but this doesn’t really surprise us, because the Linx brand wasn’t going for that with the Eden vape. The highest temperature might produce hits that are a bit warm and might be a little harsh on the throat. It’s nothing too bad though, and we have seen much worse.

There are concentrate pads that come with the Eden, so it does have the ability to vape concentrates. However, we weren’t impressed with the Eden’s ability to do so, as the temperatures don’t get hot enough for vaping concentrates.

What is the Linx Eden Battery Life?

The Eden vape battery is 2500 mAh and features USB-C charging. We expect a unit that uses USB-C charging to be ready to go rather quickly, but come to find out that’s not true with the Eden vape battery. It can take up to five hours to charge the Eden vape, which is really long. Additionally, the battery is internal and you can’t remove it or swap it out for another one.

That aside, you could do much worse with a budget vape battery. Most consumers seem to get between five to seven sessions from one charge, which is about 45-60 mins of continues use depending to the temperature setting it is being operated at. The Zeus Arc GTS Hub has a similar price to the Eden, but charges faster and lasts longer.

Aesthetics and Manufacturing Quality

The stainless steel finish of the Eden vape is impressive. The dry herb portable vaporizer is pretty slick looking. It feels good when you hold it and it is well-made. We think the Eden actually kind of resembles a vape pen due to its shape, which we kind of like. There are four LED lights that are bright enough to read but not too bright to be glaring.

The look and feel of the Eden actually could be mistaken for a more premium device, even though it is a budget vape.

Manufacturing Quality

Is the Linx Eden portable?

The Eden is only four inches tall and has a vape pen shape. This translates to being highly portable and rather discreet. The clouds don’t get very big with this device, so that adds to the discreetness as well. There are no issues pocketing or palming the Linx Eden either. Overall, this is one of the most portable and discreet vaporizers we’ve seen.

Portability & Size

What’s in the Linx Eden kit?

For a budget vape, you get a lot of accessories with the Eden. This unit comes with three glass mouthpieces and a cap, a brush for cleaning, the USB-C cable, four screens, three concentrate pads, a silicone sleeve, and an instruction manual. It also comes with a 1-year warranty, which could be better.

How to clean the Linx Eden?

The two main areas you need to maintain and clean with the Linx Eden are the chamber and the mouthpiece. Use the cleaning brush on the mouthpiece right after every session while it’s still warm, so nothing hardens which makes it harder to clean.

After every charge or so, you’ll want to hit the glass mouthpiece with some isopropyl alcohol to remove bacteria. To make your life easier, check out our vaporizer cleaning sticks from Tools420 to avoid the hassle of dipping your cotton swabs or Q-Tips in alcohol.

Bottom Line

The glass vapor path, solid performance, durable and portable build make the Linx Eden a very good budget vape. However, the battery is disappointing, there are only four temperature settings, and the cloud production is kind of lacking. For an improved budget device, also check out the XMAX V3 Pro.

A good comparison for this device is the Utillian 421 because it also has a glass mouthpiece and a similar price tag.
