How to use the Utillian 620?

Using the Utillian 620 is extremely easy as it has a bright OLED screen, precision temperature control, and a straightforward chamber design. All you’ll have to do is pull off the magnetic mouthpiece, load the 0.3 g stainless steel chamber, and then press the power button five times. It will start automatically heating, and you can change the temperature with the up and down arrows as your 620 heats up over 40 seconds. Once you feel a vibration, your device will be ready to hit!

With a precision temperature control range of 160 to 220°C (320 – 428°F), you’ll have a variety of different ways to hit the 620.  Typically, we like to start low and end high to get the full range of effects and flavor from the herb for maximum THC extraction. In general, the high temperatures are definitely capable of filling up a bubbler with a nice amount of vapor, while the lower temperatures give a smoother hit with a great terpene profile.

Utillian 620 Bowl Size & Heating System

With a well-designed stainless steel oven, you’ll get a bit of conduction heating along with your hot convection airflow. This will allow you to get bigger hits than other vaporizers, and is what some high-end vapes like the S&B Crafty+ uses.  For use with wax we recommend a dedicated wax pen vape for that real dab-like experience, as there aren’t any viable dosing capsules and dabs can drip down into the heating element.  The chamber can accommodate around 0.1-0.2 grams of dry herb, which is great for microdosing or for solo/duo use. For group sessions, we recommend a unit like the G Pen Elite 2 with its sizeable 0.5 gram bowl.

How’s the Utillian 620 Vapor Quality?

Despite its small size, the 620 really packs a punch! The vapor path is nicely isolated and composed of metal and glass so your flavor is strong and unchanged – This is a nice feature for people who dislike plastic or rubber mouthpieces. Cloud production is consistently solid, but we think isn’t quite on the level as some of the more premium devices, like the Arizer Air Max. The AVB which comes out is mostly even, but you can use the stir-tool mid session to get the most from your THC. One of the best features is the top-tier airflow which isn’t restricted at all which makes taking a hit less of a task and much more simple!

Overall the vapor quality of the Utillian 620 is very good and it hits far above its price point and weight category. If you want a budget portable herb vape with strong hits, this is the one for you!

How long does the Utillian 620 battery last?

In terms of battery life, you’ll be able to get around hour of vaping in which in our experience translates to around 5-6 full chamber clears. This is pretty decent and par for the course for budget dry herb vapes in general. It’s by no means incredible, but it’s not bad either. The 2300mAh battery charges up by way of Micro-USB which is still fairly common, though we do prefer USB-C as that’s the way of the future! It’ll take around 2 hours to fully top up which isn’t bad either. For a similarly functioning vaporizer with a swappable battery and USB-C charging, you might be interested in checking out the XMAX V3 Pro

Utillian 620 Portability

The 620 will fit in the palm of your hand comfortably as well as most pants pockets as it’s only a few inches tall and wide. It’s also surprisingly lightweight, so you won’t get that swinging pocket feeling that some of the more bulky vapes have.  While it doesn’t exactly look like an e-cig, most people won’t care if you’re using it and likely think it’s an e-juice vape anyways thanks to the matte black design. It does put out a decent amount of smell compared to other convection vaporizers, but still much less than smoking or pure conduction budget herb vapes. In fact, we’d put it as one of the best stealthy herb vaporizers around.

Utillian 620 Manufacturing Quality

Utillian has been putting out solid vaporizers lately, and the 620 is no exception. The sand-blasted black aluminum body is attractive, the mouthpiece is easy to use and clean, and the integrated stir tool is a super nice feature to include. At the price it’s available at, it’s definitely one of the best built budget herb vapes and we often recommend it to people buying their first vaporizer. As long as you don’t accidentally drop the vaporizer on the glass, it’s super durable and the only part you’ll have to replace with time is the metal filter screen. Replacement parts are super cheap, and you can even cross them with those found on the Fury Edge vaporizer.

How to Clean the Utillian 620?

Cleaning the Utillian 620 is quite simple as the only real part that will need thorough cleaning is the glass mouthpiece. Just submerge the glass and any dirty screens in some isopropyl alcohol before a gentle scrub and your 620 will be as good as new. After a session, you can use the pick tool to knock out your chamber, and then either use a cleaning wipe or cleaning stick to remove any resin buildups as you notice them. Every once and a while, you can remove the metal spiral under the chamber and pick off the resin reclaim for either edible or for a supercharged session. You can access this part by pushing up on the pick tool’s air hole and removing the chamber lid.

Who’s the Utillian 620 best for?

The Utillian 620 is definitely good for both advanced and beginner users and is a really solid addition to any portable lineup. First time buyers will love the consistent vapor quality and how easy it is to use.

Who’s the Utillian 620 not for?

If you’re a heavy user, then you might not be satisfied by the smaller bowl size and battery and would benefit from something like the Mighty+ or Arizer Air MAX. Since the 620 is also not compatible with dosing capsules, we wouldn’t recommend it for concentrates. People looking for a 2-in-1 device would probably be better off with the Utillian 722

Utillian 620 Best Tips and Tricks

To get the best performance from your Utillian 620, you can follow some of our basic dry herb vape tips and tricks below!

  • Use medium ground herb packed lightly, not too fine but not too coarse! Scissors and hand-picking doesn’t quite work so well.
  • Inhale gently over 10 seconds – too hard of a rip may not perform so well with the device!
  • Stir the bowl halfway through the load with the stir tool on the bottom of the device.
  • Get a hold of a 620 Bubbler or Utillian 620 Bong Adapter for maximum cooling and flavor!
  • Save your AVB (already vaped bud) for later, it can get you high again!
  • You can adjust your session timer between three and eight minutes by holding the power button down

Utillian 620 Vaporizer Review Conclusion

We’re pretty fond of this little unit and it certainly checks a lot of boxes for someone looking for their first vaporizer! While it doesn’t have a removable battery or USB-C charging, there aren’t really any major cons we can think of.

The performance is solid, the price is right, battery life is good, and it’s quite small! If you’re in the market for a small, budget dry herb vape, then it’s worth it to drop a little more on this device.
